Our initial face-to-face meeting for this course will take place in the Fullerton Elementary computer lab from 4:00-6:00 pm on 10/4. This course is meant to introduce teachers to new and innovative ways to integrate technology into the science curriculum to improve student achievement. During Session 1, participants will learn the basics of using a wiki and blogging. Participants will also learn the benefits of using these tools in a classroom, as well as gather ideas for how to integrate these tools into their science curriculum.

Whole Group *In order to gain comfort with using the wiki and in order to get to know our classmates on a more personal level, post a brief blurb about yourself on the Cafe page of the class wiki by mid-session (10/11). You may want to include information about places you have traveled, hobbies you have, or your family. You may choose your font and text color. You may also insert an image that represents yourself. Please also feel free to comment on each other’s posts throughout the remainder of the session in order to get to know one another a little better.
*After viewing the Blogger tutorial and screencast, create your own blog to use for this course. You will be posting your lesson plan ideas on this blog throughout the course. Be creative with the name of your blog. Once your blog is created, post your blog address on the class wiki page. Post your blog address by Wednesday, 10/6.
*After completing all of the readings and viewing all of the resources, answer the discussion question by clicking on the discussion tab at the top of the Wikis and Blogs page. Please submit your initial response by mid-session (10/11). Also, you are required to comment on at least two of your classmates’ posts by the end of Session 1 (10/18).
